About us

Prior Books is a long established UK based business located midway between Bristol and Birmingham in the Regency town of Cheltenham. That said, we can be found buying and selling almost anywhere, because we're always attending fairs or visiting auctions and shops all over the country.


We stock a wide range of quality secondhand and antiquarian books, not to mention manuscripts, maps, prints, letters, autographs and postcards, etc. Basically, we're dealers in anything written or printed on paper, especially books and items that are interesting, unusual, important or scarce.


We're proud members of the Antiquarian Booksellers Association (ABA), the oldest body of its kind in the world, and needless to say we fully uphold their codes of practice. In addition we belong to the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB) and the Provincial Book Fairs Association (PBFA).
