I am a Professional Furniture Restorer and Rattan Cane Weaver. I buy mostly Mid Century Furniture and restore these pieces back to their former glory. I always state in my listings if I have restored a piece so you know what you are buying. Sometimes only the top surface is refinished so the rest of the piece has its original patina including knocks and blemishes associated with normal use.
I also am an experienced Rattan cane weaver so I also sell caned chairs and stools. I will state in my listings if I have replaced the cane. I may on occasions only repair the cane as I believe that preserving world Rattan cane reserves is vital. I will state this in my listings.
I believe that Furniture is truly recyclable and too much of our heritage ends up in landfill. I don’t upcycle, this is for others. My work is about restoring things back to their former glory.
