Sandridge Stone Fireplaces is a small, family run company, based in the market town of Melksham, Wiltshire.
We are a small team of highly-skilled stonemasons and we design and carve beautiful fire surrounds in real, natural stone. Every fire surround is lovingly crafted individually to order using only the highest quality local stone. We are very fortunate that the beautiful, world-famous Bath limestone is quarried almost on our doorstep. The 150 million year-old shell and fossil fragments visible within the stone give it unrivalled character. The stone colour is very difficult to represent properly in a photograph. It is an understated pale cream/buff, not the golden/orange common in some areas. We would be happy to send a sample of the stone on request.
We select only the finest stone from the quarry and do not use any of the imitation, reconstituted and pre-cast stone which often misrepresents itself as 'natural hand-made stone'.
