About us

Founded by Rona Bierrum FGA DGA EG GIA DG AJP in 2016, ShinyPrettyThings offers a range of vintage and antique jewellery, with a focus on quality of design and craftsmanship.

Rona is a globally recognised gemmology expert and diamond grader with over a decade's experience of handling fine antique and vintage jewellery. She left a PhD in Fine Art to join the jewellery world in 2007.

After working for a Bond Street jeweller for 4 years, she set up her own jewellery business and studied gemmology, graduating with prizes and medals before taking the role of Visiting Senior Tutor between 2013-2020. In this time Rona continued to work freelance; buying fine jewellery at markets and fairs around the world, researching them, before selling them on to well-known jewellers around the world.
