About us
We're Stitched Up, a not-for-profit Community Benefit Society based in Manchester with the aim to inspire action on sustainable fashion. We're a small team passionate about creating a more sustainable fashion future.
We do this by running a reclaimed fabric and haberdashery shop (like this one!), running events such as Clothes Swaps and Repair Cafes as well as teaching sewing, clothes making, mending and up-cycling skills to people of all ages and abilities often in partnership with charities and groups.
Any profits we make (including any made from this shop) are reinvested for the benefit of the community. To date, we’ve used our profit to provide our monthly free repair cafe, subsidised holiday clubs for young people, volunteering and work experience opportunities, as well as activities and talks at community events.
All the products in our shop are reclaimed and have been diverted from landfill. Last year we diverted 3000 kg of textiles from landfill.
