About us

Stitch the Gap is a not-for-profit social enterprise delivering sewing machine lessons within the community. Using donated fabric we teach the life-long skill of how to repair, reuse and repurpose textiles. We also service and repair sewing machines (running a lending library of sewing machines for those who cannot access them locally too).
Every sale from our shop goes back into our education programme so that we bridge the sewing skills gap for the next generation.

We care about our environment and everything that we make is made from textiles saved from landfill and made to order - each item is hand made and as unique as you are! We employ local seamstresses and your purchase supports the local green economy x

    Bought 2 items, asked for combined postage, no answer, only prompt to pay. Paid £7, actual postage was half that. They appologised and added 1 fat quarter fabric by way of compensation. Packaging was flimsy, would have been okay for booklet but with two folded pieces of fabrics it arrived shredded. They should have flattened the fabric pieces. Thankfully nothing was lost. So overall a so-so experience.
