St Raphael's Hospice
St Raphael's provides specialist palliative and end-of-life care, free of charge, to adults in the London Boroughs of Merton and Sutton. In addition to caring for about 1,000 patients each year, the Hospice provides support, including pre- and post-bereavement support, to their families and other loved ones. The Hospice relies upon the generosity of the community to raise the more than £4.5 million it needs every year just to keep running.
About us
We are an independent charity providing adult palliative and end of life care services, and bereavement support for all who need it in Merton and Sutton. We care for around 1,000 patients every year and also offer support to families, carers and friends. We are proud to have been at the heart of our community since 1987.
Services at our hospice are provided entirely free of charge, but we need £6 million a year to run, relying heavily on public donations, legacies and fundraising to keep going.
We are not state-funded, even though every one of our patients is an NHS patient, and only receive about 25% of our costs from the NHS. The remainder, more than £4 million per year, we need to raise ourselves. Thank you for shopping with us and enabling our patients to live to the full.
