Older but just as good
Huge build, bought to experiment with replacing a CD player as sound quality was reviewed very positively on several websites and has been a huge success. Bit slow to load Blu-Rays as it is older technology, but still awesome once it gets going.
A worthy addition to any setup and has the motorised front cover with is a bit kitsch but still functional.

DT 990 Pros are awesome
7 of 7 found this helpful Headphones are entirely subjective; there is not just the audio factor, but comfort, style, portability, practicality...all those criteria (and more) that make up the reasoning for embracing or spurning this kind of equipment.
From my perspective, I value audio reproduction where the delivery is warm, weighty and not harsh, while at the same time detailed and spacious, and these headphones deliver on those counts. Style is not a consideration for me, as I will never wear them outside the house, nor will I care who sees me wearing them in the house!
Build quality is excellent; no fears of pulling them too hard, no need to baby them between listens...they are well designed and (comparatively) hard-wearing.
Price is really secondary; but these from one seller and you could pay over $400. Buy from another and you could score a great deal for just over the $100 mark.
I use these with the Sony UDA-1 DAC; high-res audio files in digital format. I don't listen to vinyl and my time spent with CDs (possibly as a result of this audio pairing) is waning considerably.
As with any product, you must research within your criteria and audition various products from various manufacturers. This products works amazingly well for me in terms of the above. I hope it will for you. If not, and you've already paid for it, you should try some more and make someone like me happy with a great eBay deal :-)

Good upgrade to the smaller 3 and 4 port units
Excellent upgrade to an 8 port unit...lots of connectivity. Robust and functional unit, but remains very discrete at a reasonable price.
