AZ Models, Saunders Roe SR53 Fmk1 Model Kit
I have completed the Airfix version of the SR-53 prototype from their 1958 tooling and found this new AZ version a new and highly detailed kit. Small in number though the parts may be they are clearly a new tooling with good detail. An excellent "what if" version of this rare seldom modelled rocket fighter.

Modelcraft Shackleton MR3 Decals
1 of 1 found this helpful When Frog first introduced the Shackleton back in the middle 1960's this was the exact decal sheet that was included in the kit. When Frog ceased to exist in the late 1970's the tooling (or moulds) went to the former Soviet Union and were the subject of an agreement with a company from Peterborough called Novo. Although it was their intention to do so, a Novo boxed Shackleton MR3 never appeared. If it had done, it, in keeping with their other former Frog releases, would have had these decals.
Enter Revell, an old and established company now based in Germany. They entered into an agreement to use the former Frog moulds and marketed the Shackleton MR3 again. But this kit had different markings and therefore a different set of decals. However, Modelcraft from Canada with links to Revell marketed the Shackleton with the original markings and decal sheet.
It is this decal sheet that I prefer for this kit. The Modelcraft decals are sharp, correctly coloured and of very high quality. They are in perfect register i.e. the red is in the exact centre of the roundel!
This is an excellent decal sheet, well worth buying as an after-market item or with the Modelcraft kit.

"Exactly what it says on the tin", as someone once said.
It gave me all the back-ground information necessary to aid in my research into the Thorneycroft Mighty Antar tractor which was touched on in the book. It was exactly as envisaged and a very good value book.
