This buyer was very aggressive, telling us only after the book was purchased and sent that they didn’t want us to use Evri and would never buy from us again. Even though eBay recommended Evri to use - To which he said we were being ridiculous. I suggested that maybe next time before purchasing an item that they specify to the seller what courier/post service they would prefer the seller to use. We were not aware of the hatred the buyer had towards Evri, otherwise we would have used another.

Lectern Bookstand Music Stand Holder Sheet w/ Fording Tripod Base Bandmaster
    07 Dec, 2017
    Not just for music!
I now have one of these by my home PC to hold papers and books, etc while I'm writing. Also, I have one in the kitchen to hold cookery books [while I'm cooking, of course!]. They take up little floor space, are light yet stable [so easily moved around], are adjustable [height, as well as angle of 'platform'] and if need be can be collapsed down quite small for storage, etc. There are small movable 'arms' to hold books and papers in position [so the book doesn't close up on you]. I've not tried yet, but I think they could also be useful for DIY and other jobs to provide a small platform to hold stuff. Imagine what use I'd get out of them if I could conduct or play music...
The Standard Danish-English, English-Danish Dictionary Hardback Book The Cheap
    08 Sep, 2021
It won't help you speak Danish on its own
I needed a comprehensive Danish-English dictionary, as I had bought a collection of items with written text in Danish only and needed to translate. This is fine as a large encyclopaedic dictionary - it won't fit in a pocket [why do people buy pocket-sized dictionaries, and then complain about how few words they contain?]. Entries in the Danish to English section follow normal alphabetical order, followed by words starting with 3 'letters' which don't exist in English. These are a joined 'ae', a crossed out 'o', and an 'a' with a tiny circle stuck on top [originally derived, it seems, from Swedish]. However, the Danish section gives no indication of pronunciation [although there is one for the English section], and neither is there a grammar section to explain syntax, conjugation of verbs or declension of nouns, etc. It is early days since it arrived, but so far it looks perfect for my purposes. The only slight problem is confusion caused by the 3 extra 'letters'.
Stamp Catalogue: France Pt. 6 by Gibbons, Stanley Paperback Book The Cheap Fast
    17 Jan, 2018
    1987 Catalogue
This is the 1987 [3rd] edition. Sections include: France [1849 onwards, with many subsections such as Balloon Posts during Franco-Prussian War], French Colonies [general issue], French Polynesia, French Southern and Antarctic Territories, New Caledonia, St Pierre et Miquelon, Wallis and Futuna Islands, Andorra [French and Spanish] and Monaco. A design index is included for French commemoratives. I bought this second-hand as a cheap reference to the commemoratives up to about the 1960s/70s, at which point most countries' stamps become no more than brightly coloured sticky labels instead of little works of art. The content is as one would expect of a specialised Stanley Gibbons catalogue, with relatively minor varieties listed. From a quick glance, I didn't find it clear how to distinguish early general colonial issues from those of the French republic. As usual with 'foreign' Gibbons catalogues of this era, illustrations of the stamps are not full size [3/4 linear size], and are in black and white. Catalogue values clearly are now out of date, but will give a guide to relative prices. This will be very useful for my purposes, even if it includes many more geographical areas that I need.
