1 of 1 found this helpful This is an inexpensive simple yet worthwhile tool. You don't need the £100 job, this one clamped to your work piece is all you need.
I bought the Kreg screws for the job as they are flat under the screw head to stop splitting the wood and are self drilling cutting tipped. Don't attempt countersunk holes, they will split your workpiece.
All you need is the square head drive bar for drill or hand screwdriver as the screw heads have a square hole in them.
The instructions are easy to follow. If in doubt test on scrap first, place the screw through the hole , measure how much it protrudes then give yourself leeway for compressing the wood and a margin of about 4mm on sheet material.
I may buy another one or two of these as spares, as they are really useful for awkward jobs like table aprons / stretchers etc where glue clamping the middle of a sheet is impossible and hiding the screw is required.
The simplest usually is the best as is the case here.
