Very comprehensive advice on all aspects of clock repair.
An excellent book for anyone wanting to learn about repairing clocks. Easily the best I have come across.
Provides very detailed advice about the mechanisms, cleaning, re-assembly, lubrication and even repair of broken or missing parts.

Good solution to the flour shortage
0 of 1 found this helpful With small packs unavailable, I bought this 16kg sack and transferred it to smaller self seal plastic bags. 16KG is far too much for me so I have sold half of the flour to friends and relatives at cost price. The cost per kilo is similar to what I was paying before lockdown.

Iiyama monitor display
The iiyama XB2783HBU 27inch monitor, arrrived quickly and on schedule. I bought this model after quite a bit of research and am delighted with it. Having such a large screen makes working with documents, spreadsheets, pictures and Ordnance Survey maps (for walking routes) so much more effective than my previous setup (laptop plus 22 inch monitor).
I no longer need to use a 2 screens which helps avoid annoying reflections - the monitor is matt which also helps with this. I have a Lenovo Thinkpad and recently bought a docking station second hand from ebay for £16 (as against ~£300 new) so in effect I now have a desktop setup when working at home.
I had to adjust brightness (right down to 23%) and contrast (82%), but the first step was to stop the monitor menu window from closing after 5 seconds!
