A refreshing approach
John Lidzey manages to achieve an excellent balance of basics - materials and techniques - with an introduction to the theory of what makes his paintings so powerful. His explanations of topics such as tonal contrast, colour theory, etc, provide a solid basis for anyone who, like me, needs to understand not just what but also why. Highly recommended!

The best beginners' guitar book
I've tried several 'teach yourself guitar books' for beginners and this is by far the best. It walks you through so much without it ever being too complicated to understand and this version with the more recent songs gives you a great range of things to play.
