Superb image quality
2 of 2 found this helpful Before buying the lens, I did some online research and found Tokina to be considered a very high-quality lens, sometimes better than the Nikon equivalent. Indeed, I was amazed by image quality and the quality build.
The only thing I cannot comment is the auto-zoom function, since my DSLR doesn't have an autofocus motor. However, for macro you will rarely use autofocus so I don't think it will be a problem for people with cheaper DSLRs.

Great all-around lens but heavy
This is great zoom lens by Nikon producing sharp photos with a very useful focal lenght
If weight and size is an issue for you, I would suggest borrowing or renting one, walking around and then decide whether this lens is for you. The lens are quite heavy and bulky.
