Looks great maybe not for audiophiles more for collectors.
Looks great on a good deck,I have the original bought many years ago, this for me is of novelty value priced at around £20 not bad these days, however noisy fortunately masked mainly by the music content no real quiet tracks as noise would be heard more ,fortunately.. As said looks great and heavy not likely to suffer from warp go on spoil yourself

the last item to upgrade
The above statement in a1992" what hi fi" mag when reviewed I fully agree with. I use mine with a 140 watt per channel Quad amp quite safely when sensibly used. A thrilling top end great image and a good dollop of bass is evident, use on good stands and toe them in a little. As the early mag says they will be in use after some serious upgrading of other components. The miniature size may raise a smile until friends hear the performance

great imagery and a smooth listening experience but not a wifes choice
8 of 9 found this helpful These are superb speakers, especially when driven by recent quad valve amplifiers ,I use a Quad606mk11 which,is made for them although being a transistor design does a pretty good job.
Drum and Bass fans are not advised to buy these ,The bass is fine for general material but an audition is reccommended.A warning to buyers ,make sure repair/service reciepts are available as unlike conventional speakers they require periodic new panels Quad are great to deal with but mine had all new panels at a cost of £1200 with an initial purchase price of £700 and faulty when I bought them Quad advise all panel repacement ,I liken it to buying a car and asking when the cam belt was changed last .To me they are worth the expense considering the latest version costs £5500 it is useful to have cartons if avalable as these cost me £70 from Quad to get them returned .These were discontinued in 1999 so 13 years of age is the newest you can buy. My only slight concern is the lack of real deep bass ,I recently bought a powered sub (REL) this has completely solved the problem as bass is none directional it fool you into believing it comes from the electrostatics.
