    Cartoon Jackie Chan
Most cartoons do not have a story arc, so it's fine to watch them in any order. Jackie Chan Adventures are fine to watch like this, but they make more sense when viewed in the correct order. That's why the DVD is worth getting - it keeps my children entertained for extended periods of time. The story? Well, Jackie is sent around the world to collect talismans, which represent the signs of the Chinese Year. They need to be kept out of the claws of a terrible demon, who wishes to rule the world. Jackie is helped and hindered by his young niece Jade - my daughters adore her, and the exciting kung fu scenes. Worth getting for a long and rainy Bank Holiday. SALLY OWEN

    Laugh out loud TV
I missed this on TV, so thought I'd give it a go on DVD. And it's as good as you'd expect from something written by David E. Kelley - funny, poignant, surreal, and in places completely unbelievable! Wait till you find yourself having sympathy for a man who killed his mother! Some of the characters are underdrawn - often the way with an ensemble piece. But it's become a compulsory daily treat for me and my husband. As William Shatner would say, "Denny Crane!" SALLY OWEN

    A quick read at Christmas
A fun Christmas read with an entertaining set of word clues and anagrams. A surprisingly high body count!
