Time saving by not having to carry out the laborious job of winding new cord onto an empty spool.

A first class high quality movement.
1 of 1 found this helpful This movement was purchased as a replacement for the same fitted into my 12" Seiko wall clock which failed after 13 years of continuous use. Fitting the replacement movement was quite straightforward using two layers of double sided tape, necessary as the shaft was longer than the original.
As the clock in question is used in a bedroom I was initially concerned to find that the replacement was "not" of the type originally fitted, i.e: continuous sweep variety, however I needn't have been! as I was pleased to find that the movement is so quiet that it can barely be heard from only a few feet away in a completely quiet room.

Good, but with reservation.
Although this item operates well as a heavy duty push start button, I would not recommend removal of the chrome surround, albeit that this is indicated as being possible in the specifications. The reason being that unscrewing the chrome surround releases the rear the switch thereby allowing the two fine springs used to power the illumination to jump out, it being a frustrating lengthy task to reposition them.
