Fast boiling and almost SILENT kettle
Hooray - I can now hold a conversation while the kettle is boiling! The quiet boil technology really works, keep thinking I forgot to turn it on it's so quiet.
It not only has a window to show how much water is in it, there's also 3 little paddles on the inside to show 1, 2 or 3 cups so you can boil exactly what you need.
It is a little heavier than my previous kettle but well balanced.
I've had it about 2 weeks now and there's no sign of limescale.
For me it ticks all the boxes.

Pentax K100D - a good mid range digital SLR
I bought this camera because Pentax have retained the same lens mount as their 35mm SLRS - this meant all my old lenses weren't consigned to the scrap heap. I have found it quite easy to use but anyone moving up from a compact camera without SLR experience will have to read the manual - and probably a few photo magazines - to get the best from it. It was a bit of a shock having to use the viewfinder again, as the lcd screen is only used for information and looking at shots after they have been taken, although there is a "preview" button allowing you to see how a picture will look before committing it to the memory chip. Personally I think this is a bit pointless unless you are running short of memory.
Overall the K100D is easy to handle, feels right and is familiar as it has a very similar layout to my previous MZ7. It is well balanced and has a sturdy feel without feeling heavy or bulky. Recommended for anyone upgrading from a film SLR or wanting more than a compact can offer.

A brilliant characterisation by Peter Sellers
This is one of my favourite films of all time. I made my wife watch it (!) and she was totally unimpressed - so I guess it's a "Marmite" film, you love it or hate it - or just don't get it.
The chain of believable events that bring the intellectually challenged Chance the gardener from a life of virtual slavery in the home of an elderly, quite wealthy man, to a few hours homeless on the streets, to the partner of an extremely wealthy widow and potential presidential candidate shows Peter Sellers' skill and subtlety - something seen in few of his films, dominated as they are by slapstick Pink Panther, Fu Manchu, Doctor I'm in trouble characters.
