Advanced Oracle PL/SQL Programming with Packages by Steven Feuerstein

Expected more of a programming book

From the title I was expecting to get a book on programming in Oracle packages. The book is quite old, but basic concepts do not change. I'm a senior Oracle PL/SQL programmer and I was looking for basic guidelines on developing packages, not necessary advanced coding concepts. Except for a few illustrations, 95% of the book was explaining how the packages that Steven developed work. This was of no help to me because I have no intent of purchasing his code and installing it in our environment. I would have asked that this was more clear in the title of the book. Either way, for the little money I spent on the book I did get some information out of it. I do enjoy Steven Feuerstein as an author, in fact after I received this book I went and ordered the latest copy of PL/SQL programming which when thumbing through it is an awesome book.

Great flashlight

I purchased a single flashlight to replace an old incandescent flashlight we keep in the house. I was so impressed with this little flashlight, the brightness and durability that I bought 2 more! Now I keep one in the car, one in the house, and another in the garage.

Great content easy to read

I am a senior Oracle PL/SQL developer with over 16 years experience. Once I started reading this book it was hard to put down. Steven has a way of explaining advanced Oracle topics that make it easy to understand. This is a book that I know will be read through, underlined, high-lighted, and read through again. This makes me wish I didn't buy all those other books, or at least purchased this one first.
