Expensive but is a quality piece and gives piece of mind.
I thought I would be able to install this without removing my crank but unfortunately the screwheads would not fit between my chain rings. So fortunately my cranks come off fairly easy. The bashguard came with all necessary screws and spacers. Once it was put into place and my crank reinstalled adjusting and tightening was simple. It's a little pricy for such a small accessory but it is a specialty part so I can see why it is kind of expensive. It is very well made and feels like a quality machined piece. I think preventing damage to my expensive chain rings makes up for the cost and gives some piece of mind. I recommend this for the serious mountain biker who rides over large rocks and logs frequently.

Works perfect for the mountain bike!!
This adapter bar is very easy to use, just push the lock buttons to open, place the bar in place and close. Bar is substantial and strong. I use it to put my Specialized Camber mountain bike on my Saris trunk mount rack. Works perfectly!
