Mini dvds
Even though dvds can be tricky for the most part these work well.

Sony DVDirect
Sadly I had only bad experiences with this product. I did the research and was not exactly overwhelmed with the reviews especially the "only 2 out of 3 discs work" part but some seemed pleased so I bought one anyway. I had tried to get 2 questions answered by Sony and emailed the same questions every day for a week. After getting every question, but the ones I asked, answered I gave up. Since this seemed the perfect piece of equipment for me away from the studio and it was the only thing available I thought I would still give it a try .
From the get go I had problems. First attempt it began hanging up after 3-4 minutes; Second attempt same then got very jerky; third and final attempt it wouldn't recognise any disc that it had not finalized. Sony support were great and told me to send for repair. I hope they do not plan to charge. I'm willing to try again with a different machine - and yes, I used all the recommended discs. I'll keep you posted
