Patience Required
In this series of books Mr Ranger has allowed us access to his considerable collection of German equipment photos from WW2.
These photos were taken by the troops themselves and so the quality can be variable, both in terms of composition and especially clarity - focus, darkness, etc.
The captions are generally good, but sometimes the editing leaves something to be desired. However the main issue I have is that the photos are not placed in anything like chronological order, and this can be frustrating when trying to follow the evolution of a particular design, or even a campaign!
Nevertheless the German army enthusiast and the keen modeller will find that there is a gold mine of detail to be found within these pages, and on this basis I would certainly recommend this series.
