IF NASA USE IT, WHY NOT YOU?
When I purchased my two (I can inform the numbers) "HAYWARD" NAVIGATOR POOL VAC, they are equiped wtih kork shoes.
I was very surprised because being myself Portuguese, didn´t know such use.
Now I know why cork, natural material, rusky skeen of a Portuguese tree (and Portugal is the very first world producer).
Like ourselves skeen, changed several times during our lives, cork is extracted each 9 (nine) years, from the "SOBREIRO" ( " Quercus suber").
"Cortiça", in portuguese, is not a kind of wood!. It´s a renewal skeen of a tree, (that don´t died after extraction) and on the contrary lived several centuries, as their brothers, the oaks!
Cork shoes that comes with my "Navigator"s are resistent and durable, so I don´t know if exists better ones!

MAKE YOURSELF YOUR REPAIRS, IF YOU CAN
I have 2 equals Navigators cleaners, for vinyl pool, because the first breakdown.
When the speed of the second decreases, knows that spare parts are sold on ebay.
So, I decided to purchased genuine spare parts and make, myself, the repair.
In 12 days I received spares.
Now, the ool cleaner runs @ a speed near of a new one.
