oh what a performance
1 of 1 found this helpful This album contains as it title says is a complimation of songs from the stage,west end show to be accurate. Miss paige has not appeared in all the shows and has picked some of the songs she likes and the ones that have made her what she is today.
Her voice is young on the tracks and clear the standards are all there Memories,Don't cry for me me Agentina as well as many from Cats and Hair.
If you enjoy West End shows and Miss Paige there is no reason not to like this album. I bought it 1/ because I had it on vinyl and no longer had a record 2/ because I had seen her perform live twice and heard one of the best voices I had heard for a long time live.
The collection is now deleted so the only way to get it in the original form is used.

A nice pick you up
The late great Victoria Wood could do no wrong in my eyes, Acorn Antiques is loosely based on the soap Crossroads. The moving sets the camera angles microphones coming into shot and the actors going off script. Combine this the telephone answered before it rings and then ringing, so bad it's funny. Combined with the comic timing of Celia Imrie, Julie Walters and Duncan ,(now Emmerdale) is so bad it's perfect. Victoria Wood was unusual as a comic writer she gave others the time to shine which she did in this. The story lines are either non existent or appear made up as the show goes on. Good clean fun no bad language Mrs Overall is the true star . DVD extras ( check to see if yours has them) outtakes are very funny making a bad program is difficult the out takes are very funny, I also had the Mrs Overall story(Walters) the program goes behind the life of the actress who plays Overall who is totally opposite to the character. This is funny in a sad way and once again Wood shows how to do it, along with clips from the west end hit show of the same name . Sadly we will not see the likes of Wood again but we do have her shows to remember her by.

Pure Magic
The dvd's is just pure magic,I remember seeing this concert live on TV and hoping one day to buy it on video. Freddie when living was a star in death he is a legend,the concert may have bits missing but the true atmosphere is there with out the anoying interview that we suffered on tv. I am pleased to own this setone foe my collection.
