Don't go with anything less.
This is the coolest running processor I've ever had, while still being incredibly potent in power. The other I7 processors in the same class aren't that much cheaper, so if you're going to get a new Intel processor that's DDR4 compatible, this is the one to go with. It can play everything I throw at it without a hiccup that can't be attributed to the collective latency of other players. I don't think you will have to worry about bottle-necking with video cards for a few generations, unless they start going with a new expansion slot...

Out of spec
1 of 1 found this helpful I tried to slide a See-All open sight on to this riser, and even with a hammer, I couldn't get it even partially on. I compared this to a riser I had of another brand, and the picatinny sections are FAR too large in thickness. I can't imagine that even items that latch down on the rails versus slide on would be able to sit level on this, just from observation.
The locking lever also jiggles and moves, even once locked down on the rail, and offers no mechanism by which to tighten it. I took torx and allen wrenches to all of the appropriate screws with no success on this front. From what I can tell, removing the middle screw and installing an incredibly thin washer might serve to shim up the piece and minimize this issue. However, given that I can't mount anything that I have to this riser, I don't know why one would go through all of that trouble. However, once mounted on a rifle's rail, it is rock solid, aside from the jiggling lever.

Gigabyte dropped the ball here...
0 of 2 found this helpful Gigabyte needs to include in their product descriptions somewhere that if you plan on installing Windows 7 via USB, that you need to use a hack they developed for the new firmware for the 6000 series of Intel processors. Just as well, there are certain functions, such as Ethernet capability, that you have to manually install drivers for before you can access necessary functions to get your PC up to date. I've never had this issue with ASRock and EVGA boards, which I have used previously. It works well once you get it up and running, but it took me a sleepless night and a trip to my parents in another city in order to get this going. I'd be willing to pay $50 more in order to avoid that.
