Battlestar Galactica
1 of 1 found this helpful In an age when Star Wars had just changed cinema forever, TV was looking old and rather dated. Something needed to be done and done it was. Think huge spaceships, star fighters, cool looking bad guys and the good guys up against impossible odds. Then add classical actors along side up and coming charismatic stars, with a sprinkling of boys own adventure, fantasy, folk law and fairy tale, and you have a winning formula. The only down side is that they didn't make more. If you are old like me and find regeneration of classic sci-fi for the modern age a little too grown up and sophisticated (Dr. Who being the exception to every rule) then sit back and enjoy all that was fantastic about late 70's, early 80's television. It was there to engage you, excite you and even educate you to a higher moral level. We need television programmes like this again.
