Good film with excellent cast and convincing performances
I already knew this film but thought it good enough to be a 'keeper' on DVD. Certainly an all-star cast, an intriguing story about a section of British society living the high life in South Africa instead of enduring the Second World War at home. Almost teaching a kind of lesson like this is what happens if you go too far with everything: drink, drugs, sex, extramarital affairs, idleness, doing nothing constructive. Be careful what you wish for....

Like this film very much, good cast and intriguing characters
I had seen this film a couple of times already but not for a long while and wanted to add it to my DVD collection.

Excellent period drama
I had seen this production on TV before and liked it so much I wanted a copy of it on DVD to keep. Superb performances from the cast, especially Natalie Dormer and Sean Evans. The story is also interesting to me as I knew something of the original book from my own work as a freelance editor.
