1982 Debut Spring Session M
1 of 1 found this helpful Everything finally came together during the magical year of 1982 and this debut is a product of that creative prowess that existed within the group. Four of the five of members were Zappa personnel back in the mid-late 70's, so the musicianship and songwriting is more advanced than some of their peers. Terry Bozzio exhibited an incredible power drumming style while touching on multiple genres, like Hard and Progressive Rock, Acid-Jazz, Reggae and Punk and had a strong stage presence. While living in San Francisco back in the 60's he was exposed the psychedelic counter-culture and music scene at the time and then went on to study and play classical/symphonic percussion, Jazz and other drumming techniques through the early 70's. He then joined Frank Zappa in 75'. Warren, also a Zappa member, brought a nice hard rock edge to their sound while being very versatile and experimental with the guitar passages. Patrick (ex-Zappa) and Chuck held the keyboard duties and provided those fantastic electronic layers and foundation needed to expand their sound into synth wonderland. Dale, well what can I say, I'm still in Love with her and proved to be the talent that Zappa knew she would be... Spring Session M is a masterpiece that the band themselves could not quite pull off again or even top. They eventually failed to meet the success of this album with the next two albums, but the performances and musicianship were always top notch and the members were masters of their instruments. This a testament to the sound and image of the 80's, the last great decade we will ever have again, at least for a long time...

This is not the White colored vinyl version!
1 of 1 found this helpful I give this classic 60's Deep Purple 2nd album 5 stars, however this is not the White colored vinyl pressing that is listed being sold. This is the black vinyl version. Had to return.

Another Terrible Sounding Re-issue
Welcome to the world of terrible sounding high priced re-issues from cheezy-named reissue labels. The good ol' days are long gone... I agree with the other reviewer here. The original pressings sound way better...
