THE LOVE ALBUM - Acker Bilk
I was very disappointed by this album.
Not by Acker Bilk's wonderful playing though, but by the accompanying artist, one Keff McCulloch who is a synth player who tried to imitate the whole orchestra.
In the sleeve notes it does say that Mr.Bilk was reluctant to play with such a person as he normally favours a complete orchestra or band.
He should have litened to his gut intincts.
I was not too impressed with the over stated piano throughout and the string sound was too synthetic than realistic.
However, this was a cheap CD to buy (£2)and it sounds better with the sound down so you can hear more of the clarinet.
As a former keyboard player myself, the instrument sounds needed to sound more realistic and the arrangements needed more enthusiasm.
Sorry but I don't really rate this album

The Blue Jukebox by Chris Rea

As a big fan I just had to have this one as it is a classic album with lush sax sounds, slide guitar and more of the late night jazz feel about it.
Everyone should have this one in their collection.

Italian barbershop at it's best!
This is a favourite of mine.
The soothing cream of the Proraso against a smooth shaved face has a quality only Proraso can provide.
The beautiful smell of eucalyptus is also heavenly!
