TomTom ONE v4 - by Dave
I have a Tom Tom Rider that I use for my motorbike . It can be used in a car but my wife cannot get on with the bluetooth earpiece. So I decided to buy her a satnav for herself.
Our daughter has a TomTom One (earlier version) and she gets on well with it, so I decided to stick with TomTom and just buy the current version of the One.
It is very compact and is easy to set up. It cane with a leather case to protect it when not in use (always remove it from the car when not in use). The new fold-flat window suction pad is great - much better and more compact than the previous one.
It has the full Western Europe map set, which tilted the decision as we will be driving to Germany next summer, via France, Belgium and Netherlands. You can buy units with just the British Isles map set but I felt it was worth getting the full Western Europe map set. It actually cost less than a lot of similar ones with just the British Isles map set.
It is a very easy thing to use and gives a tremendous amount of confidence to the driver. There is no need to find your place on a map and then plan you route if you miss a turning - the TomTom automatically recalculates you route as if nothing had happened.
All in all, a great little device.

Use that old HDD as extra external storage.
I salvaged a 2.5" HDD from a laptop that I was selling. I removed the HDD for security of my data. The drive was still working so I looked around for a caddy to put it in, to create an external portable drive.
This is just the job. The USB allows it to run off my current laptop or PC without the need for a power cable. The caddy is just large enough for the HDD, so in total, only a little larger than my mobile phone. It is easy to install the HDD in the caddy, and just plug in the USB and you are good to go.
At a cost of just £5.99 (postage free) and very prompt delivery by Royal Mail with your daily post, what is not to like.

Great flash drive at a great price and so small.
When I buy memory cards or flash drives, they are always Sandisk, as it is a brand that I have never had any problems with and trust their reputation.
I needed a large-capacity flash drive to use on visits to various people. It would allow me to run a large external program without downloading it to their PCs.
This fits the bill perferctly and comes with Sandisk SecureAccess software. The drive is deceptively small, even though I did pay attention to the dimensions in the ebay website.
