Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon (Wii)
I was expecting this to be much like the Spyro games for Playstation 2. Much different. Same story, same dragon. Fairly good graphics. 3D style scenes. Very challenging game to play. Always tense, in battle or trying to make it across unsafe ground (or no ground). No easy sections to relax and enjoy just wondering around collecting stones or power ups. I'm not a hard core video game player, but my son-in-law is and even he gets frustrated getting through areas. Just no relief to the constant struggle to move forward in this game. Most games have level up difficulty and then give you areas where you can just enjoy playing around without heavy fighting or extreme effort to access the next part of the game. Seems each section and each level gets more and more hard to complete, game starts off difficult. Even getting through the training sequences is a feat leaving one tired and drained. If you like a heavy, constant challenge, with no just for fun areas, then this game is for you. I don't recommend this one for young kids, unlike previous Spyro games. Just too difficult to kept a young kid interested. Teen and above.

Play on Game Boy Advance SP
Purchased this game to try it out on the Game Boy Advanced SP system. Works great, very good graphics. Pleased with the play. Depth perception can be an issue, but not a game play killer. Controls different than on playstation 1 etc... however still a fun and challenging game on the GBA SP. Very fun filled game for kids and adults. Hard to put down. :)

Excellent, simple but clear
After a long search for educational material that is simple, but not childish, clear, but not filled with confusing details, I came across this book. Perfect! Written in easy to understand, simple wording, but not written as if speaking to a small child. Simple, plain pictures to spark the imagination. An excellent book to begin conversations and set a base line for future education within the same subject fields. Helped me overcome my fear of saying too much, or not enough - but saying what needs to be said. Easy to read over and over to my special needs (adult) daughter. A great place to start when you are not sure where to start, or how to start. I am getting a few more books written by Terri Couwenhoven - The girls guide to growning up and The boys guide to growing up. After all, boyfriends are part of the relationship and understanding their needs is important as well. Also will purchase Teaching Children with Down Syndrome about Their Bodies, Boundaries, and Sexuality, by Terri Couwenhoven, as I really like her style. This book helps the adults learn and then teach on a subject parents with special needs adults are never sure they will ever need to teach. I learned - best to be self informed and well prepared ahead of time. I strongly recommend all of this authors works. Better to know, than be blind sided by behaviors we would understand if we ourselves were educated on this/these subjects.
