Paint must have the laquer applied, otherwise it doesn't look the correct colour. On it's own it's too dark. The laquer somehow helps it blend it properly.

You have no choice but to replace the 'balls' with the same product. You're over a barrel as they say. That's not to say this supplier is anything other than legitimate and dilligent.
