These York Notes are very clear, thought provoking and extremely helpful.
I am in a Jane Austen Discussion Group and our next book is Sense & Sensibility, which I thought I knew well. These York Notes are very clear, thought provoking and extremely helpful. First I read the book (having read it many times before, then I absorbed the Notes and I am now back on the book with a greater understanding of it. This is our third book (1: Emma and 2: Persuasion) but these have been the best York Notes to date.

Struggling to enjoy this
0 of 2 found this helpful We are reading Lady Susan (as well as the Watsons and Sanditon) at our next Jane Austen book group and I am struggling with the epistolary novel of Lady Susan so it seemed sensible to purchase the DVD, Love and Friendship. I can't say I have warmed to this either, so it is difficult to make an informed decision over how good it is. I shall persevere and re-read the book and watch the DVD again before we meet to discuss.
Not sure I would recommend it to anyone who is not a JA fan - I just love all the main 6 books, but Lady Susan was a very early book and I have to get into it somehow.

Excellent Triple DVD set, brilliant cast, superb story
I am not an ardent reader of Charles Dickens' books, but having watched the Dickensian programme last Christmas on the TV, I decided to find out more about the Barbary family, hence buying this triple DVD. What a great story, with a first class cast of actors. I was delighted to find it on eBay and have already watched all three DVDs twice and will no doubt watch it all again next winter. I shall now purchase the book!
