Armchair Theatre
Forgot all about this album. It originally came out out in in 1990 but sounds just like the Jeff Lynne of today but with the addition of George Harrison's guitar. When I think think about it Jeff Lynne has always sounded like Jeff Lynne. He's unique.
In addition to to self penned tracks there are also some a lovely rendititions of the classic songs 'Storm Weather' and 'September Song' and the old rocker 'Dont Let Go'
All tracks are well worth a listen.

Ready Steady Go Get It
0 of 1 found this helpful I've always had a weak spot for 60s artists, can't help thinking that era was a blueprint for everything that came after.
This is a good mixture of 60s club music and makes a pleasant change from listening to the usual '60s Top Ten' hits that are normally put onto this type of compilation.
Rod the Mod along with P P Arnold singing Come Home Baby and David Bowie with his 1966 self penned I Dig Everything are well fit to grace along side Barbara Acklin and Betty Everett.
Its easy to see why bands like The Creation, The Action and The Artwoods only came in as runner's up when they were up against bands like the Who and The Small Faces, but they are well worth a listen to.
Nice to hear Benny Spellman's Fortune Teller, Erma Franklin's Light My Fire and Gladys Knight's version of Heard It through The Grapevine. It makes a soothing change to listen to those well loved songs recorded by the lesser heard artist's.
It also makes a change to hear lesser heard songs recorded by great artist's like The Supremes and Jackie Wilson.
For me personally there was only one "skip track" which is by Martha Reeves. I really don't know why music companies constantly add this track to their 60s various artist's albums, (do they really think us CD buyers haven't got it in our collection?, maybe they think we never will never tire from hearing it? or maybe think we need it for our wedding reception) unlike Georgie Fames Yeh Yeh which was a big hit, it's on lots of albums, but seems to get better & better with age.
