Tall enough for anybody, yet light enough to carry
Nobody call call the Manfrotto 294A3 compact. It is no meant to be some minute compact tripod suitable for steading smart phobes a midget compact camera. It is a large tripod, not as heavy or as stable as the Manfrotto 055 range, but it is considerably taller, and as I am over 1.82 metres tall that is important. It means I can use it without fear of back ache from stooping over a low tropod or having to raise the the centre column and thus loose stability. Give this most important feature is is also a good compromise between weight, portability and stability, which for wildlife photography or use of a spotting scope is also essential.
