Canon G12 versus G11
My brand new G11 camera was great, but it lasted 2 years before acquiring a rear-toggle, poor electrical contact issue. That is not good enough. Canon in Melbourne attempted a quick fix which didn't last. It was however just out of warranty. A year later the zoom got stuck extended, and that was the end of that camera. So I bought a G12 from eBay. Perhaps it wasn't a good copy, but I could see the G11produced crisper images. Despite these issues, the flexibility of this camera is just so pleasing. But it is too bulky for pockets. Image quality is good enough.
77mm Adapter Ring + 3-Slot Filter Holder for Cokin P Series Camera G9V5

So cheap it is useless.
cheap manufacturing need not be a bad thing, but in this case, flimsy construction made the item useless after a single test. How it should work is for the filter holder to remain fixed in a position. Instead, whatever did hold the frame in place gave way, allowing the filter holder to spin around aimlessly on the front of the lens, rendering a graduated filter useless. Because the item was so cheap I thought I could play with the idea of a Cokin- like product and see whether I would be interested enough to get the real deal. As it turned out, the item didn't last long enough for me to play around with it. It is simply not worth the time to even trial the product.
