Modern day VCR without the tapes
1 of 1 found this helpful Works great as long as you add a external drive for storage. I chose this model and added a 1 TB external drive instead of the model that has the 1 TB internal drive as a personal preference.
I would definitely recommend it. I am very happy with my purchase. The issues below are only minor and would not stop me from purchasing another.
The only issues I have with the unit is that the sound is lower than without it. Where I would have the volume set to 30 without it I find that I have to have it turned up to 40-70 for the sound to be about the same. It varies from time to time/channel to channel. I have a HDMI booster ordered that "may" fix that. We'll see. Or a software update may fix it since I read that it didn't have that issue in an older version.
There are also buffering issues with some Internet channels but that can be blamed on the servers streaming them. No guide information for Internet channels either other than the channel name. Channel 803 can be watched on their website without the buffering and there is s scheduling guide there too (movee4u dot com/) FYI.
Remember this only records Over The Air Antenna channels and it cannot record Cable/Satellite signals or Internet channels so be sure you understand that from the start.
Customer service is great too. I spoke to them about the buffering and sound issues.

Good solid construction & does what it's supposed to. Would recommend.

Sticking with the OEm CPS from now on
