Written by experts - for experts. If you just want to plate motorbike parts at home, look elsewhere.
If you are like me and have classic cars or bikes that you restore and fancied a go at zinc plating the old nuts, bolts & brackets, then walk away as this is not the book that tells you how to do it.
Don't get me wrong, there is a massive amount of information in this book and it has clearly been written and compiled by experts in their field, so if you know what you're looking at it will be priceless. The trouble is, I didn't know anything about the subject and was looking for a step by step guide to achieving my goal of bright zinc coated mild steel. This is not that book. In my view it reads as if it was written for the plating industry, not for a guy at home who wants to tinker. I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering and feel like I've picked up an A-level chemistry book, seriously so most of what I've read goes totally over my head.

Low friction, strong velcro, best yet
I've used genuine laser and a few cheaper alternatives, none are as good as this clew strap. The low friction design helps outhaul response and the excellent overlapping Velcro means that there is no chance of it coming apart, even during the strongest gusts. Bought two and no regrets.

Five great products at an equally great price. Buy one now.
If you're serious about copper plumbing or general silver soldering or brazing you should buy this torch. It's that simple. What a brilliant piece of kit. Easy to use, instant to fire up, perfect flame, instant to shut down. Kicking myself for not buying one years ago.
Then add on the round pipe cutters. Only used the 15mm so far, but again what a great little tool, especially in restricted areas like when a pipe is set against a wall. Perfect cut every time with just a few rotations, another must have.
The heat mat is another must have. Locate it behind the pipe you're working on and it totally reflects the heat, keeping anything behind it totally protected. Can't think how I managed without it in the past.
Finally there is the robust tool bag, the perfect tote companion for all the above with enough space for shifters, wire wool, solder and the like. Be careful where you leave it though, the missus tried to steal it for her garden tools!
