JERUSALEM VIGIL - THOROUGHLY RESEARCHED
I am a Thoene fan!!! I'm just now going through the Zion Legacy series, and finding, as is true of all their books that I have read, a story so integrated with actual history that I have not been able most of the time to tell where fact leaves off and fiction begins. As is also true with other Thoene novels, I HAVE LEARNED SO MUCH! Fascinated by much that I have learned, I have gone to Google and checked to see if many persons, places and events were real, as opposed to made up. So far, each person I thought might be real and checked was, indeed, real, and I have even discovered that the main person in the novel, Moishe Sachar, had a real counterpart named Moshe Rusnak, whereas I had, before checking, thought he was totally fictional but couldn't figure out how they could place a fictional character into such a factual situation. I would love to attend a writing workshop given by the Thoenes, but I have not heard that they provide such training.
My only complaints about this (or the other books in the series that I have read) are that it would have helped had they provided another map or two (I have looked for places named in the story and not found them), and that I think it would have helped to have a list of the REAL people in the story.
This novel has my highest recommendation!

A Different View on Jewish-Arab Relations Before 1948
I purchased this after completely reading a copy from public library. Although It has some long lists of names of people or cities which were tedious, it contained voluminous well-researched data about the real conditions in the land mass called Palestine prior to 1948. demonstrating that it was political Arab leaders in the Middle East during the 1930s and 1940s as well as those workinfor the British Mandate who deliberately incited fleeing from their homes by commonfolk Arabs, who had long lived peaceably with Jews In the area as friendly neighbors.

Auschwitz Escape-Highly Recommended
1 of 1 found this helpful I have long been a huge fan of Rosenberg novels. This is the only one he has written which is not a trilogy, so I have purchased several of these to introduce friends to this author. This is also the only historical novel Rosenberg has written--all his others are political thrillers, and each type has kept me reading far into the wee hours of morning because I simply cannot get myself to put the book down. He uses short chapters, so a reader has an easy place to stop reading if he can make himself do so. I will add that, unlike many writers, Rosenberg's novels are free of profane and vulgar language, which I appreciate. This author personally knows many of today's world leaders, and has dual US-Israeli citizenship, so is able to bring to life much that is going on in today's world.
