Fast enough prime
The image quality is exceptional. I don't see the need for a 1.4 when you can get this at a much lower price. I see very very few situations where I need the 1.4.

Snappy general use CPU that sips power.
Snappy CPU for budget build, general use PC. Performs well in single threaded as well as multi-threaded applications. Games well on the CPU side but don't expect too much on the integrated video side. If your looking for a cheap gaming CPU, this will work well when paired with a entry to mid-level dedicated video card. If your doing a lot of video rendering, go with an i3 or i5 for the hyper-threading. It likes memory, so feed it 8 GB of DDR3 -1333. Low power is a bonus. Stock cooler works fine with this CPU.

Best for Socket 939
2 of 2 found this helpful I bought this to breath new life into a workstation build I did for a customer back in 2004. He wanted to extend this build for another year 1/2. Tomcat K8E (S2865).This is the absolute best for a Socket 939 motherboard. Runs Hot, buy an aftermarket cooler. Excellent workstation CPU for DAW or Video Editing. Also great to eliminate bottlenecks. Very easy to overclock if your into that. I got it up to 3.0Ghz with ease just to see how easy it was. Big difference over a X2-4400+.
