The AP-100 is a workhorse!
2 of 2 found this helpful The Pondmaster ( aka Danner ) AP-100 is a workhorse! Don't hesitate to buy it. It's VERY quiet and dependable! Ours ran 24/7 for 6 years ( on an outdoor pond, in a zone 7 climate ) before it finally stopped. And of course we bought another AP-100 to replace it.
I recommend that you buy a couple spare DIAPHRAGM KITs to have on hand. They're cheap and easy to replace ( takes less than 30 minutes to install ). The diaphragm is the only "consumable" part of the pump. Our diaphragms lasted anywhere from 18 months to 3 years. Depending upon weather extremes they eventually tear. But the kits are cheap and easy to install.
The Pondmaster "Diaphragm Kit" for the AP-100 Pond Aerator Air Pump is item #14565 and typically costs ~ $12-$15.
We use the AP-100 on a 15,000 gallon pond with (2) 9" FlexAir microbubbler disks ( from PentairAES ) that are submerged about 4 feet deep. The extra air also helps with alge control. And our fish load is anywhere from 40-60 fish.
