Netgear DG834GT bug prevents WPA2 security
0 of 1 found this helpful I actually received a Netgear DG834GT not the DG834G advertised. I thought nothing of this until configuring it I discovered a bug (reported online by many others) which prevents WPA2 wifi security being turned on.
Happily I need one wireless router to offer Open wifi, without security, for a specific standalone project, so this purchase suited my needs.
It also led me to look more closely at another Netgear DG834GT I own, to discover it was broadcasting unsecured access to my network, so it led to me fixing a hole in my security.
So in this case, I'm a happy bunny, but beware if you seek a Netgear DG834GT to create a secure wifi network.
