Really turns the cliches on their heads
1 of 1 found this helpful As you'd expect from Joss Whedon, there are moments of horror - just as many as the average formula horror movie. But there's also great comedy; characters, set-ups and one liners. You won't be disappointed. Unless you like your horror movies to be humourless ;-)

Hogfather - Better On The Page
This was a great effort to bring Hogfather to the screen; a good cast, and fast moving action, most of the time. But the screen does not have the lightness of touch that you'll find in the book, and no amount of special effects can match Pratchett's imagination.
What could they have done differently? just the lighting, I suspect; it was meant to be a little dark (as in evil), but it didn't have to be so dark (as in "I can't see what's happening").
Also, in their desperation to get the widest possible audience, they've just not bothered to include many of Pratchett's best jokes, for fear of confusing a new audience.
It was a valiant effort, and every Pratchett fan should see it, but don't expect too much.
