Shielding makes all the difference
Excellent — completely cured problem with annoying speaker hum.

A grey area

My answer: I'd like it fine if I could get it to work.
Of course the problem may be not with the device itself, but rather with the set-up instructions. Therefore the ratings I've given it should be regarded as provisional.

Shielding does the trick
I'm sceptical about the gold connectors — I doubt if they make any difference. But the shielding really does make all the difference in the world. The two-second screen blackouts and the flickering I'd been getting have completely stopped and the screen image is now 100% stable. (Macmini computer to Samsung monitor connection.)
