Just Okay
1 of 1 found this helpful We decided to buy this unit to replace our 12k BTU portable air conditioner because we wanted something colder. We live in a small California style bungalow that is under 1k square feet with the unit in the living room which is 1/4 of that. It's a rectangle room with low ceilings. A 15k BTU unit should be able to keep up with cooling this room down and making it cold, but it doesn't. The air flow is not very strong so we have to have a fan moving at high speed in order to keep the air moving around the room. The unit doesn't cool below the mid 80's during the day when it's the warmest outside. Our 12k BTU unit did a better job of cooling the room down then this 15k BTU. The top vent has to be manually pulled open when you turn the air on, not sure if it's broken or not.
This unit would work best in a room that is smaller then the recommended.
