The rope on it is really strong, the ladder rope not as strong, but should last them a little while. I doubt it would last for more than a couple of months for gerbils, as they love to chew EVERYTHING, but it's certainly given mine some excitement and encouraged them to play. This would be great for hamsters and rats too. I've really enjoyed watching them play on this, and as soon as it's all chewed up, I'll be ordering another one as it was really great value for money. Thanks so much!
