Could Do Better
With all the talent involved it should have been a better show. Fosse, great dancer & choreographer but no actor or singer. Marge & Gower were always worth watching and of course Debbie was always a star right from Singin' in the Rain but the parts were better than the whole. The story line was a bit thin and predictable. Pity.

Old and Faded
The main problem with the Beecham recordings is their age. There is a lack of depth in the sound which, when played on a quality hi-fi only serves to display the tinny ambience.

Two Good Singable Shows
The recording of Wedding in Paris was particularly enjoyed by some friends who were married when the production was on and they appeared in a local operatic society performance. Can Can is one of Cole Porter's best, I had only seen the Sinatra, Shirley MacLaine film before. A good production/
