Don't buy this without the remote.
What every review you can find will say about its power and fidelity is true. However, without the factory remote the only tweaking possible is of bass and treble in rather large increments.
No balance options, no alteration of the spatializer levels ("Hall", "Theater", etc), no adjustment to individual speaker volumes can be made except by microphone which doesn't account for different movies having different ideas of how to use the center channel, or that you may need to move speakers/furniture for seating guests, and so on.
"Scene", a macro feature, is also locked behind the remote.
There is no Mute button on the AVR itself.
You get the idea.
That's why the remote costs as much as the AVR itself apart from shipping weight.
3rd party replacements don't work except maybe a Harmony.

Region 1 without forced subtitles.
Japanese Blu-ray of Bullets over Broadway (EAN = 4988111140241 - you can search this number on eBay). Japan is the same Blu-ray region as USA.
Contrast is hot and detail is pushed/sharpened but those can be adjusted for on your display.
As for the film itself: nothing missing, nothing added.
Subtitle options are Japanese or none.
Dialogue is front and center.

Great Seimitsu style button
A very high quality Seimitsu knockoff, easily 90% as good as the real thing. Palpable return action, by design, unlike Sanwa's buttons.
The plastic is clear cut, even, and firm; no flash, no wobble, no discolorations.
