A pocket wonder!
2 of 2 found this helpful I bought this camera as I already owned a ST150 and had excellent service from this model. I felt that I needed to upgrade and opted for this model as it had a 10x optical zoom feature but retained the 16.1 megapixel picture quality, most cameras with higher zoom settings had about a 14 megapixel image potential.
What I didn't realize was that the 10x optical zoom was suppllimented with an additional digital zoom nearly doubling the zoom capability, now I have found that digital zoom in most cameras to be the poor relation of optical. However in the st200f you can hardly tell the difference!
The video recording feature is a very useable 720p at 30 fps, this I find suitable for uploading to youtube and for important family occasions that require recording. Battery life is excellent, I frequently take up to 300 16.1 mp pictures in a day between re-charging and still have adequate battery power for more. Additional batteries are cheaply available anyway.
The only feature I don't use is Wifi, my particular model does not have it anyway and as I did not use it in my ST150 I do not miss it! Night settings are useful and enable you to slow shutter speeds at half second increments, however these shots are best taken with a tripod, the result is very sharp night scenes!
I cannot praise this little camera too highly, I have avoided purchasing a very expensive DSLR camera as this model does everything I want it too and produces very professional looking results. It does take a bit longer to fire up than my ST150 and also make adjustments in the settings but shots are instantaneous and thats where it counts.

Awesome little lens.
1 of 1 found this helpful As I had my FX camera body covered at zoom ranges, I wanted a collection of fast primes to cover the nearer focal lengths. I had 35mm and 50mm but wanted something a bit closer so opted for this. I originally wasn't expecting anything particularly sharp as I had read a number of reviews including the Ken Rockwell offering. I had already learn't to be wary of some of his reviews having had my fingers and wallet burned a number of times. I'm thinking in particular of his review of the Nikon D7000 series, where no mention is made of this series of cameras focusing inaccuracies! It even plagues the D7100 which has been highly recommended by virtually everyone.
So I approached this lens with an open mind, firstly I tried on my D700 as a landscape lens, stopped down to about F8 or so and was blown away with the results, sharp all over! Then used in low light conditions on my DX bodies as it equates to about 40mm and found it great even wide open. To me it just shows that reviews should be treated with caution, even supposedly independent reviewers. Being extremely light and compact, I just put in my pocket and carry all day in case I need to something fast and wide.

Excellent little point and shoot, great fun to use.
1 of 1 found this helpful An excellent little point and shoot camera, I always carry one of these with me. I have three specific lenses for this, a 28mm F2.8, 18mm F1.8 and the kit 10-30mm zoom.
I also use the adapter and use my AF-S lenses. My 35mm F1.8 G lens equates to about 80mm and is ideal for videoing.
However be aware some contrast is lost using long reaching zoom lenses such as the 70-300mm VR. Also only Nikon lenses function when using the adapter.
I usually have to dial in negative exposure compensation for stills, about -07 and your good to go, if too much you can lighten up in Lightroom.
All in all an excellent little camera, better than any point and shoot and smart phone.
Although I normally shoot full frame cameras in full manual mode, also this camera has full controls however I am happy to keep in program mode and just have fun.
