Replaced the original equipment remotes perfectly
Replaced the original remotes to my Directv D12-700 box perfectly - no programming needed for that box. Had to program it to control the volume on my particular brand of TV and the instructions that came with it didn't cover that, so I just did an online search for that.

Radio Shack 15-1950 Wireless Remote Control Extender
Worked perfectly to control a satellite tv box from a room 15 feet away and through 2 walls. Is rated for 100 ft, but did not try it that far away. Was able to avoid leasing a 2nd satellite tv box in a 1 person household where I wanted to change channels on 2 tv's in 2 different rooms.
